Animal Handling and Capture Training for Professionals
Animal handling and capture form an essential core of what animal care and control organizations are designed to do and are central to daily operations. However, animals do not always cooperate. Humane Innovations is proud to provide animal handling and capture training for professions. Owner/Instructor John Peaveler will draw on 20 years of global experience to cover a range of topics which will help staff and/or volunteers approach difficult animals professionally and humanely, with a focus on achieving desired outcomes in the short and long-term.
This session will challenge students to think critically about standards, expectations and options for working with animals that are anything other than friendly. The session is structured to be engaging and memorable, with a specific goal of making a lasting impact in how students capture and handle animals in all circumstances. The course material is built off of international best practices, including the five freedoms and fear free, low impact standards of training.
Students will sign into training and will receive a certificate afterwards for CE purposes, if requested by the customer.
Testimonial
John Provides a relevant, customized experience for each type of learning group and knows how to engage his audience and cultivate empathy for the animal experience in the shelter. He does the footwork to ensure the organization has the equipment and training needed to safely and humanely achieve animal handling skills for daily operation. I highly recommend engaging Humane Innovations as a must-do hands-on training experience for all staff, volunteers, humane officers, and other involved community members.
